Conclusion:

Football involves kicking a ball with the foot to score a goal. Basketball on the other hand involves using only the hands to eventually net the ball. There are many forms of football like American football, soccer and rugby. There are numerous reasons to say that football is a better game ahead of basketball. The reasons being global popularity, requires more physical activity, more entertaining and finally it is worth more commercially.

Comparison of Football and Basketball

To begin with football is the most popular game in the world. It is played by played by over 265 million players in over 200 countries (Kunz, 2007). Basketball is only popular in a handful of nations in North America and Philippines. Even though basketball is hugely popular in America, the NFL Super Bowl is the most popular sports event among the Americans.

What makes football better than basketball is that football is more entertaining. For instance, watching a football game does  not mean that one should only wait for the goal. The audience gets to see tactical defensive and offensive play during the game. The football players keep the audience alive whenever a player hits or tackles the opponent team. The crowd finds it more entertaining than basketball.

Football is easy to learn as it has few regulations and does not require special equipment to practice. Basketball requires that the players are very tall. On the other hand football does not require big body size. Players like Lionel Messi do well because of their skill, even though they are not so tall. At last, but not the least, football is a high quality game that requires special physique and fitness levels.

Football is big money globally compared to basketball. Companies spend huge sums of money on the World Cup, NFL and especially on Super Bowl. This is proof that football is more popular and most loved game in the world.
